Answer: 2 mm for small tiles (10 cm side), 4 mm for standard tiles (20/30 cm), 1 cm for large tiles (60 cm and +).
The width of the joints depends on the dimensions of your tiles. The larger the tiles, the wider the joints should be. For small tiles of less than 10 cm side, opt for joints of 2 mm or 3 mm. For tiles of about 20 or 30 cm per side, we will go from 4 mm to 5 mm. And so on. Beyond 60 cm side, you can be content with 1 cm wide for the tile joints. But in the end, it's mostly a matter of personal taste, especially if you are tiling in your home, not in a professional setting. Just be aware that the standard joint is usually 6mm. The same is true for expansion joints, which must be made for rooms larger than 40 m²: minimum 6 mm wide. You too, send us your brico question
